My Hometown: Milwaukee’s New Anthem
The Milwaukee County Historical Society hosted a 30th anniversary celebration and exhibit for the BoDeans, the most well known rock band to hail from the Milwaukee-Waukesha area, on June 16. The group gave their first live performance of the new single “My Hometown” on the same day it was released for sale.
Khalif El-Amin: Athletics, Academics, and Algorithms
Known more for his athletic achievements on the basketball court in high school and college, Khalif El-Amin is challenging the social values placed on sports, changing the perception of what an entrepreneur is in Milwaukee, and proving that young African Americans have a place in the tech startup industry.
