City’s environmental office to install solar panels at three Milwaukee public libraries

The City of Milwaukee recently announced that it will take major steps to increase the use of clean and renewable energy this spring. The City’s Environmental Collaboration Office (ECO) plans to install 209 kilowatts (kW) of solar PV on three Milwaukee Public Library buildings. The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee (RACM) authorized a certificate of completion recently for Washington Park Townhomes, a catalytic project that adds forty new homes to the 30th Street Industrial Corridor. Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers issued a blueprint on February 28 for reshaping state government after eight years of GOP control, proposing a boost in the minimum wage, the repeal of drug testing for those on food stamps and a goal of all electricity produced in Wisconsin being carbon free by 2050.
