In addition to its annual on-board tribute recognizing Rosa Parks and her contribution to the fight for equality and equity for all, the Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) announced the formation of the first-ever MCTS Rosa Parks Tribute Scholarship on November 30. The Common Council voted on November 24 to adopt legislation to move forward with using remaining federal CARES Act funding for a small business start-up fund, education assistance to parents of K-12 students, and help to provide Internet access and tablets to senior citizens. After the first two days of Milwaukee County’s recount of the 2020 presidential election were bogged down by several lengthy objections, Milwaukee County Clerk George Christenson said the recount is back on schedule.
