Since it started in 2008, Yacht Blast for Kids has become the largest fundraising event for Make-A-Wish Wisconsin. The August 28 event served 34 families who rode yachts on Lake Michigan and the Milwaukee River.

Echelon MKE hosted their second Dinner in the Alley event, to benefit the Salvation Army in the Black Cat Alley next to Farwell Avenue on August 26.

The Milwaukee Bucks and Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin plan to develop two new health-oriented facilities within the new downtown Milwaukee arena district, a sports science center and community health facility, that will provide much-needed access to healthcare services for residents of the surrounding neighborhoods.

Governor Walker announced his $4.5 Million plan to rebuild neighborhoods in Milwaukee at a press conference on August 26.

The BoDeans returned to their hometown of Milwaukee last week for several appearances, including a performance at 88Nine Radio Milwaukee on August 18. On the following day, the band traveled to Cedarburg to play at the Cedar Creek Park event, Summer Sounds.
