Field operations by Chaplains of the Wisconsin National Guard brings relief to COVID response troops

For the past year, the Wisconsin National Guard has found new ways to apply its assets and capabilities to support Wisconsin’s response effort to the COVID-19 pandemic. Along the way, Guard members also found challenges to overcome. Tech. Sgt. Investigation finds retailers distributing COVID-19 vaccinations added requirements violating CDC policy

The original justification for proof-of-residency and ID requirements to get a COVID-19 vaccination were supposed to stop so-called “Vaccine Tourists” who sought access in other states that had better public distribution channels. Operations at Milwaukee’s COVID-19 mass vaccination site transitions to Federal supervision by FEMA

Through a joint federal, state, and local partnership, Governor Tony Evers announced on March 15 that federal support would begin at the Wisconsin Center in Milwaukee for COVID-19 vaccinations. “FEMA’s work here in Milwaukee is a valuable addition to our efforts. The new people and resources help expand our capacity, and, importantly, allows us to redeploy local vaccinators to underserved and under-vaccinated areas of the city,” said Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett. “All the partners in planning for FEMA’s arrival have worked collaboratively and kept the focus on vaccinating as many people as possible promptly and efficiently.” The U.S. Department...
