Juneau Park taps the keg to open its Traveling Beer Garden

The Traveling Beer Garden, a partnership between Milwaukee County Parks and Sprecher Brewery, kicks off today at 4:00 pm with a keg tapping downtown at Juneau Park, and outside the city in Greenfield Park. The May 17 opening day events will host live music and free beer and root beer, available while supplies last. The Traveling Beer Garden, now in its fourth year, will visit twelve parks over the season. Port Milwaukee bestowed with Robert J. Lewis Pacesetter Award

The Pacesetter award recognizes United States ports in the Great Lakes and along the St. Lawrence Seaway that see an annual increase in international cargo. Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett accepted the Robert J. Lewis Pacesetter Award on May 11 from the St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation. Associate Administrator Thomas Lavigne presented the award during a luncheon ceremony at the Wisconsin International Trade Conference. The largest community-based organizations providing adult education programs in Southeastern Wisconsin will combine operations to expand their reach to students and increase job readiness for those in need.
