Walk 100 Miles in 100 Days Challenge 2017 to encourage active living

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett will kick-off his 4th Annual Walk 100 Miles in 100 Days Challenge on June 1 at City Hall. The kick-off announcement will be followed by the program’s inaugural walk along the Milwaukee Riverwalk. Walk 100’s overall efforts to increase physical activity among residents complements the Milwaukee Health Department’s work in combating obesity. In 2016, the Public Policy Forum reported that Milwaukee’s obesity rates are higher than state and national percentages. Female entrepreneurs launch Beautification Project for Women’s Center

Raven Resistance, a collection of local female business owners, entrepreneurs, and activists, will volunteer their time and talents to make the Milwaukee Women’s Center a more welcoming place on May 23.
