Discovery World’s 360° VR exhibit immerses students in simulated journeys

Replacing the original 360° VR experience of Discovery World’s HIVE (Hybrid Interactive Virtual Education) display, the Virtual Explorer exhibit incorporates new technology that transports visitors into several hyper-real environments. Opened in partnership with MilliporeSigma in the fall of 2017, the Virtual Explorer uses a custom launcher built with help from the Zizzo Group, a Milwaukee-based marketing firm. MCTS Bus Driver Karen Martinez-Casper received some well deserved attention from the public for her act of kindness, during the Milwaukee Bucks game on January 10. A new season of the Emmy Award winning “Around the Corner with John McGivern” began in 2018 with a sold-out preview party at the Milwaukee PBS studio on January 8. Fifth longest serving Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn to retire

Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn made a surprise announcement of his retirement on January 8, after a decade in the position. Chief Flynn said it was time to focus on his family. He will remain in his position until February 16.
