The Hop, presented by Potawatomi Hotel & Casino, announced a new partnership with Beechwood Sales and Service to host the inaugural “Hops and Stops” pub crawl on Saturday, April 4.
The unique event will feature eight downtown bars and restaurants located along The Hop’s route offering food and beverage specials highlighting many of Wisconsin’s best craft breweries to streetcar riders.
“This partnership is a fantastic opportunity for us to introduce streetcar riders to the outstanding downtown bars and Wisconsin craft breweries that make our city special while also bringing a new audience on board The Hop to learn how easy it is to connect with great downtown entertainment destinations via the streetcar,” said Dave Cartwright, Director of Sales and Marketing at Beechwood Sales and Service. “We’re looking forward to a fun afternoon on board The Hop and in many of our great partner bars and restaurants along the route.”
To celebrate this new event, one of The Hop’s streetcars has been given a face lift, with both sides of the car now featuring the foamy white head of a perfectly poured beer atop the ale-colored golden stripe. The car also features the logos of each participating Wisconsin-based craft brewery: 3 Sheeps, Central Waters, Good City, Hinterland, Milwaukee Brewing, New Glarus and Third Space. The wrapped streetcar debuted today and will remain in service through the event on April 4.
Hops and Stops participants will be able to pick up a passport at any participating location and then collect stamps for each location they visit, including a stamp for riding the streetcar. Completed passports can be submitted at any participating location for the chance to win great prize packages donated by the breweries.
Participating bars and restaurants in the inaugural “Hops and Stops” event include Café Benelux, County Clare, East Town Kitchen and Bar, My Office, Oak & Shield Gaming Pub, St. Paul Fish Company Tiki Bar, The Wicked Hop and Y-Not II Tavern.
