Transdev, the firm that will operate The Hop, will hold an open house on May 2 to fill new employment positions, including streetcar operator jobs.
The job fair will take place from noon to 4:00 p.m. at the streetcar operations and maintenance facility at 450 N. 5th Street. The company is seeking to hire for more than 20 positions, including Streetcar supervisors, safety trainers, facility maintenance technicians, Brookville vehicle maintenance technicians and fourteen streetcar operators.
The streetcar operator will provide information about the jobs and conduct initial interviews at the event. Applicants are asked to bring copies of their resumes and dress in business or business casual attire.
Due to limited space in the facility, only four people will be allowed inside the location at a time, so applicants are encouraged to dress for the weather if necessary. If time runs out for initial interviews, remaining applicants will be called back the following week.
Transdev will also discuss positions and take applications from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on May 3 at Wisconsin State Fair Park’s Career Expo. Technical training and streetcar or mass transit vehicle experience will be preferred.
Salaries for the Streetcar positions are projected to range from $40,000 to $65,000. Transdev is expected to employ about 30 people for The Hop operations. Transdev is the largest private sector operator of multiple modes of transit in North America.
