Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett proclaimed June 16 as BoDeans Day, with the celebration held at the Milwaukee County Historical Society.
The public celebrated the 30th anniversary of the “Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams” album by the BoDeans at the Milwaukee County Historical Society. The celebration and music exhibit kicked-off for the BoDeans, who performed their new single “My Hometown” on the same day it was released for sale. The song was heavily inspired by the band’s connection to Milwaukee. Free samples of the new Sprecher BoDeans Original Ginger Brew were also available at the event that attracted 200 visitors.
“It’s the 30th anniversary of the BoDeans, and what could be more historical for Milwaukee music than the BoDeans? So we put together this tribute exhibit to them to celebrate 30 years, and hopefully many more, and it also timed perfectly with their performance here this summer and the release today of the new single My Hometown.” – Mame Croze McCully
