Victory Garden BLITZ: Community Canvassing
Canvass neighborhoods, sharing posters and fliers about Victory Garden Initiative’s the Great Milwaukee Garden BLITZ where people can purchase their own raised bed garden. Opportunities are April 7 and 14, from 3 to 5 p.m., as well as April 8 and 15, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Kinnickinnic Spring River Clean Up
Clean up Pulaski Park, the river, and the surrounding neighborhood by picking up garbage on April 23 from 9 a.m. to noon as part of the Environmental Health program of Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers.

Tree Planting
Form or join a group and meet at a local park and other green locations to plant trees on Arbor Day. Trees available at Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful.

R.O.O.T. Riverside Park
Drop in to Urban Ecology Center at Riverside, Washington Park and Menomonee Valley sites to help improve natural habitat for native plants and wildlife weekdays and weekends. Starting April and beyond, come often.

Fostering Our Riparian Biodiversity
Remove invasive species, establish native plants and trees and maintain trails as part of River Revitalization Foundation’s program to improve habitat surrounding Milwaukee’s river basin. Volunteering opportunities include Monday and Friday afternoons and Saturdays.

Help older adults in your neighborhood with spring yard cleanup or adopt a senior and help them all summer with grass cutting or trimming as part of Interfaith Older Adult Programs’ Neighborhood Outreach.
